What do you do when you have no room for a standard desk? Build a tiny one!

With student housing charging ever increasing rents for smaller and smaller rooms, many students no longer have room for much more than a bed and wardrobe, standard desks simply do not fit.

Tiny Desk is the result of a short two day project, made in my garden with my router, coping saw, drill and lots of sand paper. The two tier system allows for the surface area of the small desk to be increase whilst maintaining the small footprint. The shelf helps keep the structure rigid. Made from reclaimed Ash found in a skip and insert bolts from an old bed. 100% of the materials used were reclaimed and reused. This added complexity to the design as it was limited by the material availability.
